PRP FOR SKIN REJUVENATION - CHELSEA FACE AND BODY NYC

Platlet Rich Plasma for Facial Rejuvenation (Vampire Facelift)

(Platlet Rich Plasma)PRP Facial Rejuvenation is a cutting edge treatment that uses the patients’ own blood to trigger regeneration within the skin. The blood is taken from the patient and then prepared using state of the art technology to create platelet rich plasma. Platelets contain a number of growth factors that stimulate the rejuvenation of the skin. The re-injection of the plasma stimulates the release of these growth factors which encourage new blood capillary formation and new collagen growth. PRP promotes new blood vessel formation, new collagen growth and helps build a new dermis so that the skin is plumped, refreshed, rejuvenated and appears visibly younger.

What do we think about PRP?

We love it and our patients are raving about their results. For the CFAB gold standard in PRP Skin Rejuvenation, PRP can be used in conjunction with the BTL Exilis Ultra and either the Eclipse Micropen or the Endymed Intensif RF Microneedle. The combination of these three therapies is the holy grail for skin rejuvenation at Chelsea Face And Body

How does PRP work?

Blood is placed into a centrifuge and spun at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood. The platelets then form a platelet-rich plasma which can then be re-injected back into the patient. When PRP is injected into the skin, the platelets release a number of different growth factors which stimulate a number of different cells. One cell type that is stimulated during the process is the fibroblast cell, which is the cell type that creates collagen. Collagen is what gives skin a youthful appearance. As we age, collagen is produced less and less, causing wrinkles and fine lines in the skin, and treatments such as PRP therapy can counteract this. Additionally, another cell stimulated during the process is the pre-adipocyte cell, which is a cell type that can convert into a fat cell, which is especially important in the face to fill out lines and to contour the face. The overall result will leave your skin rejuvenated; lifting and brightening your complexion and knocking years off your appearance!

Is PRP Safe?

PRP Therapy is a 100 % natural procedure. As the PRP is made from the persons’ own blood, it does not create a foreign-body immunological reaction and therefore there is no risk of an allergic reaction.

Research and clinical data show PRP obtained from the patient’s own blood is safe, with very minimal risk of adverse reactions or complications. Because the platelets are produced from your own blood, there is no risk of rejection or disease transmission.

Patients can resume normal activity immediately and most patients report little discomfort during the procedure. The procedure may take no more than 20 mins to one hour and can be performed as an out-patient treatment.

What Can Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy Treat?

As skin ages, it loses elasticity and collagen. Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy can improve skin tone because it stimulates collagen growth and also improves the blood supply to the area which causes an improvement in texture and tone. PRP Therapy can be used to treat numerous skin concerns, such as fine lines and wrinkles, crêpey skin, mild drooping or sagging, dehydrated scaly skin, or a dull lifeless complexion. It can be injected anywhere on the face and body.

How long does it take? How many PRP treatments will I need?

The average treatment will take between 30–45 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. While responses to treatment vary, most people may require a course of 3-6 treatments depending on age and skin concern. Each treatment is performed at monthly intervals. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have.

What results can I expect?

Improvement of skin texture and tone are noticeable within three weeks. Full collagen regeneration takes up to three months. In most patients, the results last up to 18 months. Touch-up treatments will maintain the results.

Are there any side effects?

There are few side effects that may be associated with Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy. Immediately after the procedure, you can expect some minor bruising, swelling and redness at the injection sites. You may also experience some tenderness and slight discomfort at the injection sites. However, any side effects should disappear within a few days following the procedure.
